Alter the terrain around you, allowing nearby allies in the area to travel with ease. You and your allies aren’t affected by Difficult Terrain, can’t be Restrained or Paralysed, and gain Resistance to Poison damage.
During combat, Beast Master Rangers are able to take a turn for both their own character and their summoned animal. The Bear has the ability Goading Roar and a big pool of HP, making them the perfect distraction for melee enemies while the Ranger rains arrows (and other ranged attacks) from afar.
Absolute Bane: When the wearer hits a creature with a weapon attack, Larian Studios Update it receives a 1d4 penalty to Attack Rolls and Saving Throws. The same penalty applies to anyone using these gloves without bearing the Absolute’s brand.
The other companion animals can be more damaging or more useful situationally, but the Bear will generally provide the best utility to a Beast Master Ranger, especially if they plan to fight at a range.
The best Ranger companions in BG3 are Halsin as a fellow support and damage role, Karlach as your primary melee Tank and bruiser, and Gale as a ranged spellcaster dealing damage and controlling the battlefield from afar.
Summon a flaming sphere that deals 2d6 Fire damage to nearby enemies and objects. It also sheds bright light in a 6m radius, and dim light for an additional 6m. On a successful save, enemy creatures still take half damage.

There are a lot of large animals that Rangers can choose from in the Beast Master build, but only one of them has an ability that forces enemies to focus on them: the Bear. The companion Bear has 19 HP base, which is upgraded to 39 at Level 5, as well as the Goading Roar (the Taunt) and Claws, which deals Cleave damage in a short range.
Create a sphere of cold blackness, teeming with unknown horrors. Creatures starting their turn in the take 2d6 Cold damage. Creatures ending their turn in the area possibly take 2d6 Acid damage. The area is Difficult Terrain and creatures within are Blinded.
In Act 1 , which typically brings players up to around Level 5 , you will be able to choose your Ranger Subclass (Beast Master), your first Favored Enemy and Natural Explorer choices, your Fighting Style, Feats, and a handful of Lvl 1 spells.
It’s worth dipping into Fighter a little bit for the one extra attack, but players can even go as far as Ranger 7/Fighter 5 to get an extra attack every turn, though this mean losing out on more high-level Ranger abilities.
As light and as cold as the mist hanging like ghostly chandeliers over the canals of Marsember, the wine’s nose communicates all the central aspects of its mother city… save perhaps the mounds of dead monkfish.
The Half Wood Elf is the best Ranger race in BG3 for players who don’t particularly like the idea of playing as a Gnome. The Half Wood Elf has one of the longest movement distances of any Race, and they gain proficiency in Stealth for free, which is really useful for skirting around combat to get the perfect ranged angle.
The artist has exaggerated the points of the ears, which seem to cut the canvas dark like pale knives. The garb and crossed hands of this eminent man are beautiful, poised, and utterly indicative of means.

Your attack summons thorny vines, dealing Weapon Damage and possibly Ensnaring your target. Ensnared creatures cannot move and take 1d6 Piercing damage at the start of each turn. An ally can use its help action to try and tear away the vines.
